Econometrics has traditionally been performed on command driven programs that have often been difficult to use, requiring users to edit data in one program, plot charts in another and perform analysis in yet another. All these components become difficult to co-ordinate. The Professional Edition of SHAZAM provides an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) allowing users to create datasets, command files, plots and matrices as well as import or edit datasets created with other programs, all from within SHAZAM.
